 Deadly Gas Truck Explosion Shakes Santiago’s Renca Commune



A devastating accident in Santiago, Chile has left multiple people dead and several others injured after a liquid gas truck overturned and exploded near a major highway in the Renca commune.

According to local authorities, the truck lost control before overturning, triggering a powerful explosion that could be heard across nearby areas. The blast resulted in the deaths of at least four people and injured around 17 others. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to control the fire and assist victims.

The explosion caused widespread destruction, damaging approximately 50 vehicles and affecting nearby businesses. Witnesses described scenes of chaos, with debris scattered across the roadway and thick smoke rising into the sky. Several of the injured were reported to be in serious condition.

Officials confirmed that the vehicle was carrying liquefied gas and was affiliated with Gasco, a well-known Chilean gas company. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether mechanical failure, road conditions, or human error played a role.
